On the morning of July 25th, 30 children who had traveled to Zhangjiagang to reunite with their parents visited Spotlight Automotive’s production base for an immersive industrial learning experience filled with automotive technology and hands-on discovery. The event marks another meaningful community initiative by Spotlight, following years of youth science education programs and support activities for children with special needs, further integrating the company’s corporate social responsibility efforts into local community development.

This educational tour was part of the “Little Migratory Birds in ZJG” civic engagement program, jointly launched by the Zhangjiagang New Era Civil Practice Guidance Center and the Zhangjiagang Youth League Committee. The long-running initiative focuses on children visiting Zhangjiagang to spend time with parents working locally, including migrant workers, employees of emerging industries, and construction workers. Over the past eight years, the program has built a collaborative volunteer model involving companies, business associations, and community organizations. By participating in the initiative, Spotlight aimed to offer these young visitors a window into the city’s industries and culture, helping them better connect with Zhangjiagang and experience the warmth of the local community.

As part of the customized learning program, Spotlight organized a special “History of the Automobile” session for the children. Using animated presentations and interactive quizzes, company engineers introduced more than 200 years of automotive development through engaging, easy-to-understand storytelling. Guided by instructors, the children then toured the complete vehicle manufacturing process, including steel stamping, body welding, and final assembly, gaining first-hand exposure to automotive engineering, intelligent manufacturing technologies, and industrial culture. Among the participants was 11-year-old Wanyi Yang from Jiangxi, whose parents work at a local factory in Zhangjiagang. After the visit, she shared that it was her first time seeing such an impressive plant and that the experience inspired her dream of becoming an automotive engineer in the future.

These young dreams, inspired by the power of technology and innovation, may one day bring the children back to the place where they first discovered the fascination of modern industry, growing into aspirations that shape the next generation of industrial talent. Moving forward, Spotlight will continue working with more partners to transform the resources of green and intelligent manufacturing into accessible educational programs, helping build stronger connections between new resident families and the city while contributing fresh energy and warmth to the development of a more inclusive and vibrant community.
