On the afternoon of August 13th, Great Wall Motor, BMW Group and Zhangjiagang Municipal People's Government signed an investment agreement for a complete vehicle joint venture project in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. The signing of the agreement marks the official settlement of Spotlight Automotive in Zhangjiagang City.

In the presence of Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, BMW Group and Great Wall Motor signed a joint venture agreement to establish a new 50:50 joint venture in China to produce MINI electric cars. The new joint venture is named “Spotlight Automotive”, for the development and production of electric vehicles in China.
